Theo Robinson is a modern abstract artist, graphic designer and kinetic text animator.  Currently residing in Vancouver he spent formative years in London and Melbourne.
With training in graphic design and art history, his artworks combine the aesthetics of street art, graffiti and muralism incorporating elements of abstract art, minimalism and the suprematism movements. In them he seeks balance between raw textured expressionism and the use of controlled line-work and strong forms.
As a designer and animator, Theo has worked in brand promotion for beer halls, techno promoters, synth-wave nights, Thai restaurants, coffee houses, DJs, MCs, and the infamous Revolver Upstairs Nightclub. Over this time he has produced thousands of flyers, promotional campaigns, logos, brands and style sheets, boutique screen prints, T-shirts and hoodies, interactive pdfs, jigsaws, tracksuits, dressing gowns, menus, postcards, signs, as well as developing the nitty-gritty design that keeps a venue operational.
In the late 2000s he spent time working as a VJ, which led to an interest in video editing and kinetic-text animation. These skills have led to the production of music videos and promotional materials for electronic and festival focused musicians such as Stickybuds, N’FA Jones, F’Del, Smalltown DJs and Blue King Brown. He has also produced videos and promotional materials for a tech start-up company, the music management program MPAL, later named Centralized.
